I know that shopping for clothes for work is expensive.  You want to buy the best quality you can afford in order to look professional.  You also don't want to wear the same thing everyday.  You need to have variety.  Yet money is tight. Well there is a new shopping experience in town.  Flash Sales!!  Flash sales are limited-time sales featuring designer brands at bargain prices. There are many flash sales sites and more are being added all the time.  Some of the top sites are: Rue La La, Haute Look, Ideeli, Gilt, and Beyond The Rack.  You need to be a member.  But, that dosen't seem so hard to do.  You can either have a friend recommend you or just contact them and I am sure they will send you an invitation. 

Many great brands have merchandise on these sites. From Calvin Klein to Esprit bargains to be had by all.

Thinking Big Makes For A Big Career

I am reading a book called "The Magic Of Thinking Big" by David J. Schwartz, PhD  I must say I am really enjoying it.  The premise is as the title suggests that there is magic in thinking big.  Dr. Schwartz discusses how expecting the most and believing in yourself can create amazing results.    He states "When you believe, your mind finds a way to do it."  That makes tremendous sense to me.  Think about something you wish to accomplish.  If you decide you are going to do it than your mind starts to come up with strategies to achieve your goals.   If you decide to have big goals than your mind will strategize to reach those big goals. 

Dr. Schwartz also writes about how fear impacts your ability to acheive big results.  If your afraid and have doubts than it is hard to reach your goals.  One way he suggests fighting the fear is throught action. He says "Action cures fear".  Profound words for profound results.

So look for his book and like myself you can learn a lot on Thinking Big!!

Career Inspiration From Lady Gaga

I have always admired Lady Gaga.  It is very hard to be original these days.  But she has managed it.  She also keeps her act fresh and new.  Now I have a new reason to be impressed.  Lady Gaga is not only original and talented but highly trained and an extremely hard worker. 

Even when she's not touring, Gaga works "about 16 to 20 hours a day. And when I'm alone, I write, I imagine, I create things, and I decide how I want to do my future performances. I don't take much time off." said Lady Gaga in a Harper's Bazaar November issue interview. 

Now while I do not condone working 16 -20 hours a day because I think you need balance in your life, I have to say being that focused can really help you excel in your career.  So if you are interested in going the extra mile (and in Lady Gaga's case the extra 20 miles)  you will find yourself leading the pack!
